Shade is a training platform for athletes and communities. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we do not sell your data, and you control what other members can see.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third party advertising.
Your profile visibility is controlled by you. The profile switch and the per-section switches (personal records, workouts, performance index, body weight) decide what other signed-in members can see. Names and avatars appear to members of communities and teams you join, and on leaderboards you compete on. Nothing about your training is visible to people who are not signed in.
We share data only with the service providers that run the platform: Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Upstash (rate limiting), Mapbox (community address lookup), and AI model providers for the optional generation features. Each receives only what its function requires. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your data stays as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our systems; some records that other members depend on (for example, results in a completed competition) may be retained in anonymized form. Communities that stop paying enter a wind-down period and their data is deleted after the retention window described in our terms.
Shade is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
We will update this policy as the product evolves and note the date above. Questions or requests about your data: hello@shade.training.
