These terms govern your use of Shade, the training platform for athletes and communities. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use Shade on behalf of an organization (a gym, school, club, or federation), you agree on its behalf too.
You need an account to use the platform. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old.
Shade is not medical advice and is not a medical device. Programs, benchmarks, and coaching content on the platform (whether authored by us, by communities, by coaches, or generated with AI assistance) are general fitness information. Training carries inherent risk of injury. Consult a qualified professional before starting a program, and train within your abilities. You use the platform and act on its content at your own risk.
You keep ownership of what you create: programs, workouts, posts, media, and records. You grant us the license needed to host and display that content to the audiences you choose (your community, your team, or the public catalog when you publish). Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.
Community owners and staff moderate their own spaces; we may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Paid community tiers and the personal Pro tier are billed through Stripe on a monthly or annual cycle. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated charges; downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the billing period. When a community subscription lapses, the community enters a read-only wind-down and its data is retained for a limited period (currently 90 days after suspension) before it becomes eligible for deletion.
Communities can charge entry fees for events. Those payments run through Stripe and are paid to the organizing community, minus a platform fee. The organizer, not Shade, is responsible for the event itself: its safety, rules, refund decisions, and delivery. When an organizer cancels an event through the platform, paid registrations are refunded automatically.
Coaching relationships on the platform (direct coaches, community staff coaching, and friend grants) are agreements between members. Coaches you accept can see and edit parts of your training as described in the product; you can end a relationship at any time and choose whether their programming stays on your schedule.
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for other members. Sections that by their nature survive termination (content licenses for published work, disclaimers, limitations of liability) survive.
The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shade is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be noted in the app or by email, and the date above will change. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Questions: hello@shade.training.
